Now a days there are a quite few conferences of acupuncture and Moxibusion, and I know that many people are interest in participation. Until now most attendees of these conferences are men; however, more and more women acupuncturist are attending them. I would assume that this is an indication of an advancement of women acupuncturists in the field. However, thinking of how many women acupuncturist are doing acupuncture, it is still a small number of women being seen in the conferences nationally and internationally. It is unfortunate that even if there may be such meetings held somewhere, there is any information about these meetings available to acupuncturists, especially those who have own practice, and who have no access to such information. Talking about myself, I have been in the United State for about 13 years in 1999. As a woman acupuncturist, and as an owner of clinic, I have tried my best to treat patients, and run my clinic. Whenever I encounter the problems, make mistakes, or experience the time I do not know what to do, fortunately I have mentors, and more experienced colleagues to talk. They gave me a lot of courage, and so much good advice that I could not learn either from books or by myself. Through my experience I have wished if we had a sort of place where people like myself, can get together and share ones' experience. I believe that there are many people who want to have this kind of opportunity to learn about many subjects. They are not like " regular seminar topic" such as how to become successful owner or how to learn these magic points, or secret points, but rather philosophical questions like what is the quality of being an acupuncturist, or why we have learned from masters, or why it takes a long time to learn this wonderful medicine. These questions lead to how to become not only a good acupuncturist but also and more importantly how to be a good enough person to treat people as well in order to contribute something back to the society where we all live.
